  • Veronika Gunter

    CHAIR

    Veronika Gunter is a Southern Appalachian native, the daughter and sister of immigrants, and also descends from proud hillbillies. Growing up between different worlds taught her that everyone deserves to be connected and included.

    Veronika has worked in journalism, publishing, digital marketing, management, and renewable energy. She co-founded and operated a utility-scale solar development company (2016-2025). She helps nonprofits, social enterprises, B Corporations, and mission-driven organizations solve problems as a consultant and fractional COO.

    Veronika is a co-founder of community radio stations and a former board member for The Mountain Area Information Network, YWCA-Asheville, and the Recovery Living Ministry at Costello House. She fosters animals through the Asheville Humane Society and leads youth snow sports programs for the National Ski Patrol.

    Veronika earned a Bachelor's in Mass Communication from UNC-A, a Master's in Technical and Professional Communication from ECU, and the Duke Certificate in Nonprofit Management.

  • George Sieburg

    TREASURER

    George Sieburg has been working in the non-profit arena and with social impact organizations for most of his professional life. As a former middle school teacher and a former small business owner, he is committed to organizational excellence and supportive structures.

    He is the current Finance Director at Asheville Community Theatre, is an elected member of the Asheville City School board of Education, and is the Vice Chair of the organization VISIONS. He also serves on the Learning Committee for the Peace Practitioners Alliance through the Euphrates Institute. He is a former fellow with the Peace Practitioners Alliance, the Center for Racial Equity in Education (CREED) Equity Fellowship, and the Hunt Institute's Education Policy Fellowship. He lives in Asheville with his wife and their three teenage and twenty-something daughters. George earned his BA in English in Creative Writing from Northwestern University and his MS in Curriculum & Instruction from McDaniel College outside of Baltimore, MD; he is an alumnus of Teach for America. In his free time he writes fiction and plays guitar. 

  • Antanette Mosley

    BOARD DIRECTOR

    Asheville Vice Mayor Antanette Mosley has deep roots in the Asheville community. At the age of five, she was the very first student to integrate Saint Eugene Elementary school in North Asheville. This experience helped shape her passion for achieving equality and equity for all persons.

    "My family has resided in the area for five generations, including my late father, Rev. Dr. Charles R. Mosley, a minister in the East End neighborhood, and my late mother, First Lady Lue R. Mosley, who taught in Asheville City Schools for more than 30 years. I know and understand the needs of our community because I have grown up here and have witnessed the changes, both good and bad," said Councilwoman Mosley, “and I am committed to continuing the legacy of being a voice for the unheard and an advocate for the underserved.”

    Ms. Mosley graduated from the Asheville School, then attended UNC Chapel Hill, majoring in Psychology. After graduating from UNC Chapel Hill, she earned her law degree from Georgia State. Antanette has been a practicing attorney for more than two decades and is also a proud, active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

    Valentina Pallin

    BOARD SECRETARY

    Valentina Pallin, an Asheville native born abroad, is a first-generation American whose deep connection to Western North Carolina extends beyond family to the broader community that helped raise her. She is a grassroots organizer and communications professional dedicated to strengthening local campaigns and initiatives by fostering authentic, lasting relationships.

    Fluent in Spanish after living and working in Guatemala, Valentina returned to Asheville to earn her degree in Spanish Literature from UNC Asheville. Her early career spanned work in libraries, restaurants, and Spanish interpretation for in-home community providers, helping families with young children access critical resources.

    Today, Valentina brings her hospitality and communication skills to project management and inter-organizational outreach for electoral campaigns, cause-based initiatives, and a statewide nonprofit voter registration effort. She also serves in leadership roles with TCP, the Buncombe County Young Democrats, and the NCDP State Executive Committee. Outside of her professional and volunteer commitments, she enjoys attending concerts, singing with her husband and band, walking their rescue dog, and curling up alongside their three-legged cat to read a good book.
