Our Mission

The Connectivity Project is dedicated to bridging the digital divide for individuals in crisis by providing access to refurbished cell phones, laptops, and essential digital connectivity services. In 2025, as connectivity becomes increasingly vital for accessing employment, education, healthcare, and essential resources, we recognize the urgent need for reliable devices. There are existing federal government cell phone programs, however, we specifically aim to address the gaps they leave for individuals who may not have the time to wait for assistance, are in crisis, lack a permanent address, or live in households that already have a government phone (only one is allowed per household).

Additionally, one of our core missions is to combat e-waste; we prioritize refurbishing quality equipment over purchasing cheaply made devices that lack durability and contribute to landfill waste.

The Connectivity Project partners exclusively with nonprofits, government agencies, schools, and other institutions to expand digital access for people in crisis—those returning from incarceration, survivors of domestic and sexual violence, youth aging out of foster care, and families navigating reunification.

We do not serve individual end users directly. Instead, we strengthen the capacity of frontline organizations by equipping them with the phones, internet access, and digital tools their clients need to connect, communicate, and rebuild.

Through strategic partnerships and innovative solutions, TCP is closing the digital divide—one agency, one system, one community at a time.

Our Vision

We envision a world where everyone, regardless of their circumstances, has the technology and support they need to foster connections, access resources, and seize opportunities for a brighter future. In an era where broadband access and cellular connectivity are essential for participation in society, we are committed to ensuring that individuals facing adversity are not left behind. By acknowledging the limitations of government programs and focusing on those who fall through the cracks—whether due to time constraints, housing instability, or existing household restrictions—we strive to create an inclusive society.

The Connectivity Project aims to be a nonprofit disruptor in a space traditionally dominated by for-profit providers. By collaborating with our community partners, we streamline their digital offerings and ensure that technology becomes a bridge—not a barrier—to empowerment and resilience. We are constantly exploring new, innovative pathways to deepen our impact and close the digital divide for those most in need.
